Why We Ride

Steppe Riders started with one hard enduro tour to Gunjiin Sum in 2023 — and the realization that nowhere else rides quite like Mongolia.

How it started

It began as a father-and-son project. My dad has spent years working as a mechanic, and I fell for dirt biking after my first hard enduro trip to Gunjiin Sum in 2023. Between his hands-on mechanical experience and my time in the saddle, Steppe Riders came together naturally.

Why Mongolia

There's almost no restriction here — if you can ride it, you can go there. Few other countries let you cross that much open terrain on two wheels: steppe, mountains, desert, river crossings, all within reach of each other.

The terrain and the culture

Mongolia's landscapes shift constantly, and so does the weather — it can turn in an instant, which is part of what makes riding here feel alive. Layered on top of that is a culture that's still deeply nomadic, still tied to the land you're riding through.

Who's behind it

A small, hands-on team — mechanical support from years of real experience, and route planning from someone who rides these trails himself, not just maps them.

Come ride it with us.

Whether it's one of our set routes or something built around you — this is the country we grew up wanting to cross on two wheels.
